Towards Inclusive Humanitarian Action: the GEO Indigenous Alliance at HNPW 2021

On April 20, 2021, the GEO Indigenous Alliance led a side event as part of Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week (HNPW) to promote more inclusive humanitarian action that takes into account the rights and knowledge systems of Indigenous Peoples. The session highlighted the barriers and challenges Indigenous Peoples face in humanitarian responses and identified actionable recommendations for more inclusive humanitarian action.

Through the use of Indigenous Knowledge and Earth observation data and tools, the event demonstrated how Indigenous communities can participate in humanitarian action using evidence-based data. Learn more about the event here.
